What did this man die of?

ENUMCLAWAuthorities are reviewing hundreds of hours of videotapes seized from a rural Enumclaw-area farm that police say is frequented by men who engage in sex acts with animals.

The videotapes police have viewed thus far depict men having sex with horses, including one that shows a Seattle man shortly before he died July 2, said Enumclaw police Cmdr. Eric Sortland.
------------
The dead man was identified as a 45-year-old Seattle resident. According to the King County Medical Examiner's Office, he died of acute peritonitis due to perforation of the colon.

Sad to say, but who could ever forget Enumclaw after reading this?

I received a polite PM questioning the "linguistic content" which prompted the posting of this story in today's Seattle Times:

Here is my reply in case others may have wondered about that.

The linguistic content is the name of the town where this shocking event occurred: Enumclaw

It is sad to say, but nevertheless absolutely true, that this sleepy little town, with the quaint name no-one ever heard of before, will forever be remembered by this egregious event.

Just as we all remember Nagasaki for the bomb dropped there, Columbine for a shocking high school massacre, and Amityville for a fictitious haunted slaughterhouse, so anyone who hears or sees the name "Enumclaw" will forever hereafter associate that name with a horse coupling with a man with predictably fatal results.

"Enumclaw". That's the reason I made the post.

The clinical condition known as "Walter Mitty Syndrome" is named after Thurber's character "Walter Mitty". "Sadism" is named after the Marquis de Sade.

I predict that the name "Enumclaw" will become the name of the clinical condition describing this rare, thankfully extravagantly rare, and deadly, bizarre variation on the sexual perversion known as "bestiality".

weathermen(people?) have trouble predicting rain.

traders can't predict market reactions.

words come and go..

but you are confident and 'predict' that emumclaw will be remembered for this event. (and further predict that the name its self will be come synonimous with beastality.

gee, i thought catherine the great (reputed to have engaged in sex with horses (to no ill effect)) would be a more likely name to be associated.

and while i realize there are 4000(give or take) registered here, many, it seems, don't regularlly read, and even if all 4000 did, i doubt we have the power to move one small story (not a national one to my knowledge) and the name of a small town to become linked to a sexual practice that already has a name, (beasiality)

Do you have a gift? can you see to the future? or is it just a WAG?

it in word play and fun, so i guess its just a WAG.

i just don't come here for dull inuendo. i don't care about paris hilton, or her sexual exploits, and i don't have much to say on beastiality. (except i don't!)

it doesn't seem to have much linguistic content. and its not very funny. (it is basicly a sad story of man who died, isn't it?)
oh well-- my opinion.

OK, Of Troy.

I don't confidently "predict" it.

I confidently "surmise" it.

That's clever, W'ON.

You don't really have the talent or the stomach for malicious, scurrilous, unprovoked invective. Why not leave it to the experts?

Methinks they are ready to make their next appearance. :)

I think our newcomers are entitled to see this. I know I'm looking forward to it.

re:I predict that the name "Enumclaw

but you did. or have you now changed your mind? or did you predict it, and not really mean it? i don't know what to think. You predict, and then claim you didn't.

i don't even understand why you think one small incident in a small town anywhere is going to change the world --or change it enough to make the term universally known and understood when there is alread a well know term for the practice.

Indeed, why don't you share it with us, Of Troy.

I remember you knew what "golden showers" was when I only suspected what it meant.

I also remember that you thought it was perfectly acceptable for one of your fellow Carp to use that term as an insult posted on AWADtalk.

And how about the time you defended another Carp's repeated use of an obscene 4 letter word describing a woman's private parts?

Do you think anyone [who actually knows you] is really deceived by your 'outraged innocence'.

I think all our newcomers should get to know you just as well as I know you, Of Troy.

right insult me, but don't answer real, legitimate questions.
how many pot shots do you get to take?

who gets to deside when someone has taken a pot shot at you?

why do you think you should be the one to make the rules about my behavior (and others) and you should be exempt from all rules?

i did- beastiality.

the practice of having sex with animals.
why would do you predict that beastiality (a reasonablly well know word) will be replace with emunclaw?

you seem well read and educated. but i didn't insult you. and i don't like your insulting me.

i have never claimed (well not in many, many years) to be an 'innocent' and i am not outraged by the post.

i just fail to understand what it has to do with words, or why you think an unusual name of small town in Washington will replace an already in use term.

since you have made a habit of posting about subjects of a sexual nature
(the post about about Ms Hilton and her semi pornigraphic commercail for a hamburger chain can only be called gratutitous, since it had nothing to do with words, and everything to do with Ms. Hilton, whom you seem to have obsession with) it seems very much like the pot calling the kettle black to imply that the my post are (or tend to be)filled with sexual references or inuendo.

You seem to object to any post that have adult content(unless, of course your making them, because, as is rapidly becoming evident, You seem to be exempt from the standards you expect other to adhere to.)
