On the Foodgasm thread, Bishmillsneat object to the construction of "foodgasm" as, he says, the "operative suffix here would be '-asm,' not '-gasm.'"
Dictionary.com offers another -asm word: prograsm. This is defined as "The euphoria experienced upon the completion of a program or other computer-related project." The provenance is claimed to be the University of Wisconsin (which apparently has a Department of Geeks).
Here is an example of a new word built on the proper suffix. There are, perhaps, other -gasm words, built on the misconception that the proper suffix is -gasm rather than -asm.

built on the misconception
Running *gasm through onelook.com yields only 'Arhatic YogaSM' and 'DGASM.' In the former the SM seems to be standing in for the word system and the latter is an intialism standing for "Don't Give A Shit Meter.' The suffix -asm is not, in and of itself, productive any more in English if it ever was anywhere. It acts only as an element of a portmanteau word and there are too many other words that end in -asm to allow one to use it without the g and have the desired effect. It's not needed in prograsm because it's already there in the g from program.

Father Steve! You could keep a private tally sheet behind your bench, say, one through ten. Then when a defendant whines, "Those weren't my pants", you could put a check beside ten.

It seems that the thread on "Foodgasm" has generated nearly as much interest in Irish whiskey as the subject portmanteau word. That prompts the question whether a sampling of an exquisite 16 year old single malt Irish whiskey has ever produced a "drinkgasm." That works even less well. The term, that is, not the whiskey.

bush mill, a good deal of us are always generally interested in whiskey. (and other distilled alcohols.)
we've discused the spelling of whiskey (and had side bar conversation on which we like) we've disscussed word that have come into english for arabic languages (like um, let me think of one, Oh, i know Alcohol) (and somehow the too was an occation for discusions about potent potables, wine, brandy, yeast.. barley, malt, (even a discusion about DNA linked to RNA, which led to Rybose (oh, and ose, a sugar, mmm, sugar can be fermented.. hey we can talk about alcohol.)
It could be we are lushes.. (and its sure seems like the lady's of the board are, at times, not the most lady like) but alcohol, is a perennial side topic and does well as topic on its own.. and many of us here are not unfamiliar with it in various forms. --(there have even been dark tales told, in secret places, about corrupting innocents.. and teaching a lamb to nurse, using a beer bottle--with a nipple and milk in the bottle
--the poor thing was never fully weened once it discovered bottle with out nipples attached were more fun to drink..
(off--with a earwig of 'get me a copper kettle..' ringing in my ears..)
