Arianna Huffington wrote a column about Teresa Heinz Kerry in which she said "Almost every story about her these days includes at least one snarky remark ..."

Snarky?

"...one snarky remark."

I can't really tell out of context, but it could mean sarcastic here.

max: ha!

edit: here's the entire article:

I thought it might have something to do with the snark, as in Lewis Carroll's "The Hunting of the Snark," which is, perhaps, what Max is suggesting, obliquely.

Sorry, padre, couldn't help myself. Snarky is so common a word here that defining it seems hard, hence my dodge, son.

Sorry, padre, couldn't help myself.

Usually, repentence is a precondition to absolution, but I'll let you off without a penance on this one.

Even though I'd done it again? Thanks.

Snarky...

I got it, it's an acronym!

Snappy neo-hippie arrogant rich kook Yugoslavian.

(But...uh, isn't there a law or something about not having a Yugoslavian as First Lady?)

Snarky?

Thought it is a portmanteau word for snide remark. Could be wrong. Who knows?

For snarky OED says "irritable, short-tempered."
For snark : snore, snort, find fault (with,) nag,
a fabulous animal, also an elusive truth or goal.

Well, guess that clears that up!
(how do you make a cross-eyed thingie with the keyboard?)

Nope. However : The President, The U.S. Constitution says : "Clause 5: No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

Yugoslavian

How about a Moçambicana?

All seriousness aside, do we have an origin for "snarky"?

Snarky is a pretty common term here too. It is a a crabby, snippy and cutting comment. I wouldn't really clasify it as sarcastic though.
