antirrhesis (from Taylor)

an-tir-rhee'-sis Gk. anti “against” and rhesis “speech”

Rejecting reprehensively the opinion or authority of someone.

Examples
Rush Limbaugh is no political commentator; he's a two-bit showman whose political ideas are about as impressive as his humility.

Well, this is an interesting and useful rhetoric term, although I wonder how the 'authority' part became associated with the broad term of speech (i.e., rhesis)? Certainly anyone who speaks is not necessarily an authority! Ha!

Must look up the adjective form, which I do hope exists: antirrhetic?

Well, antirrhesis isn't listed in the MW Unabridged--and it only gets one hit on onelook.com in the Silva listing.
