so a glebe could be a prebendary (meaning 2)? see http://www.bartleby.com/61/70/G0147000.htmlthere is a Glebe avenue in the bronx, it marks the old line of St Peter's (anglican) church's glebe. St Peters has an alter that was given to the church by Queen Anne. the current church building is new, but it is retains the old alter.

Dear of Troy: I used to drive over a Glebe Road in (I think) Fairfax, VA. I wondered where
the name came from.
