Horrible, yet Wonderful movie..... I hated it because it was trite and
schmaltzy and predictable. It tried so hard to be a "Classic" movie...but we all know a movie's "classic definer" cannot be forced.

I loved it because I enjoy any movie based on real events (even when fake, additional story lines are added) and I love any movie that is a period piece, complete with costumes and architecture; and any movie that depicts the luxuries of the ultra rich. I also love the music.....sooooo haunting and beautiful. I own both the Video, and the original soundtrack CD....I haven't watched the movie in years, but I listen to the CD at least once a month.

You should rent it, Jackie!
