The latest iss;ue of The Vocabula Review (thank you, Jackie) has a very good article
by Michael J. Sheehan, with some logodeaedalisms that ought really fly. I guess it would
be rapacious and ungrateful to hijack any of them.
But he did teach me a word in the dictionary new to me. I never knew before that there
is a name for the dog's nicitating membrane: "haw". I have had many dogs, and remember
the little moistening pad that spreads the lachrymal lubrication before it goes down into their
nose. The list of coinages alone would justify the cost of membership in TVR. PM me is you
want to see some of them.
