what is it about this riddle/hoax? the supposed third word ending in -gry is claimed to be the most asked question in all of linguistics. I believe it, as I get multiple hits every week searching for the "*gry" string and I received yet another email query yesterday. it has come up as a thread subject here at least once before and has been addressed multiple times by Anu. I understand the "answer"s [there is no third common word... it's all just a misunderstanding of a silly riddle]; what I don't ken is why this particular question seems to fascinate or bother folks so much!?
