I've been puzzling over the ethymology and the concept of the "amitie amoureuse". I found one
translation as "loving friendship" but am not sure whether this would capture the essence of what the
French understand by this concept. Does anyone know who coined this phrase, when and how and for
whom it was first used? It sounds very much like 18th century provenience.
