Is there a word for "the occurrence in real life of something that is ordinarily only a figure of speech." Example, seeing a blind person leading another blind person down the street -- "the blind leading the blind." Thanks in advance.

That's an interesting question. If there is we probably have someone here who knows it. But then, we probably have someone who knows it even if there isn't a word for it.
Welcome and stick around.

Welcome and stick around. I like that: "we have someone who knows it even if there isn't a word for it". Good one. I love questions like the one posted above: things I have never thought of, and which spark interesting repartee. Welcome.

Well, just to give it a shake, might I propose a kettleblack?
