There was an article in the Heifer International magazine that I read this afternoon, about a woman who attempted something rather grand (in her own mind, at least), and failed miserably--at first. It said she went away and regrouped; returned, and 'attacked the problem with patience'. I thought that 'attack with patience' was a very interesting conceptualization.

A hasty attack seldomly turns out to be succesful, I think. Specially watching how animals approach their prey. The other word: "regroupe" has been on my list of asking for a while. I received a letter from a friend who said: "For the moment I am regrouping". I am regrouping sounds kind of funny to me. How do you regroup as a single person? What does it really mean?

Spelled "regroup" in my area of the world, I think people are referring to a mental process, as in "regrouping my thoughts/ideas". It's fairly new, and quite popular. I like it, and use it.
I like that phrase, too, Jackie. I've never heard it, though, I don't think. Just goes to show ya...

Maybe "attack with patience" is another way of saying "stalk."

Thanks, twosleepy . It isn't spelled at all in my arena of the world, so I spelled it wrong. Stalking counts for living things, but maybe you could use it for problems as well.

Maybe "attack with patience" is another way of saying "stalk." Sounds good to me. I was thinking as in a game of chess type scenario.

Oh dear--something told me I should have gone into more detail--sorry. No, she had decided a.) that the lives of a group of apparently impoverished women needed improving and b.) that she knew how this could/should be done. They had other ideas.
Her mental regrouping consisted of taking the time to think through what had gone wrong and why, and what changes she needed to make in her next attempt. (Which I hope for her sake was a different group: allegedly one of them poisoned her.)
I gather that her subsequent "attack with patience" mode meant that she had pushed too hard and too fast in the first attempt.
