The Louisville Orchestra gave a performance this evening at the ampitheatre very close to my house. It had been quite a long time since I've seen them; the temp. was about 70ºF (21.1 C) with a light breeze--in other words, perfect. Such a pleasant experience!
The event started with a recognition of firms that had contributed to the Fund for the Arts; then the music began. The theme was music that has been used in movies; they played parts of larger works. It is a world I miss. The program:

"Allegro con brio" from Symphony No. 25 in G Minor, K.183, featured in Amadeus, Romeo and Juliet
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Can-Can, featured in Rush Hour 3, Big Fish, The Little Mermaid, The Cutting Edge, Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Jacques Offenbach

"Habañera" from Carmen Suite No. 2, featured in Superman Returns, Meet the Parents, Magnolia, Entrapment, Serendipity
Georges Bizet

"Allegro con brio" from Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, op. 67, featured in The Breakfast Club, Fantasia 2000, Immortal Beloved, Austin Powers, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Ludwig van Beethoven (editorial comment: yes, this is the famous dah dah dah DAHHHH; and, wow!)

Clair de lune, featured in Ocean's Thirteen, Ocean's Eleven, Seven Years in Tibet, Frankie and Johnny, Castaway, Casino Royale, Atonement, Twilight
Clause Debussy

"In the Hall of the Mountain King" from Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, op. 46, featured in Alice's Restaurant, Man on a Wire, Scoop, Rat Race
Edvard Grieg

"Saltarello: Presto" from Symphnoy No. 4 in A Major, op. 90 ("Italian"), featured in Breaking Away, Centerstage, Set it Off
Felix Mendelssohn

Overture to Il Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville), featured in Robots, Cruel Intentions 2, Clockwork Orange
Gioachino Rossini

"Flight of the Bumblebee" from Tale of the Tsar Sultan, featured in 8 Mile, Radio Days, Casino, Kill Bill: Volume 1
Nikolai Rinse Your Coffee Cup

An Der Schönen blauen Donau, op. 314 (On the Beautiful Blue Danube), featured in Horton Hears a Who, Roll Bounce, True Lies, Cool Runnings, 2001: Space Odyssey
Johann Strauss, Jr.

There's no ñ in Habanera.

Long live the music, Jackie. We used to have a type of margerine called 'Brio'. This in combination with 'The Breakfast Club' made me laugh. I've always only seen it written as 'con brillo'. But looking up 'brio' it seems to be allright.

There's no ñ in Habanera in Spanish. In English if we want to put an ñ in there, we'll put an ñ in there. Capish?

Io capisco, but there's no ñ in the English alphabet. She could spell it Habanyera if she wanted to, or mistake it for an Italian word Habagnera. Me, I think it's better in the original Klingon, Hab'ang yu'ra'.

Like man'yána? There are some dictionaries that have mañana with cream on top. ~ Also the Collins has it. I guess those who want to let know that they know their Spanish like to put the ~ on.
