OP In the latest AWAD mail the Great Anu posted this quote:
"Words are a mirror of their times.
By looking at the areas in which the vocabulary of a language is expanding fastest in a given period,
we can form a fairly accurate impression of the chief preoccupations of society at that
time and the points at which the boundaries of human endeavour are being advanced."
-John Ayto, lexicographer (1949- )

>iPod
iPods have been around since 2001.
I'd vote podcast in the tech category, but looks like that was last year's:Quote:
The editors of the New Oxford American Dictionary declared "podcasting" the 2005 word of the year, defining the term as "a digital recording of a radio broadcast or similar program, made available on the Internet for downloading to a personal audio player"
—Wikipedia.
Hy: Indeed. Of course, wow asks ."...you must associate..."
And those are my associations, however dated be some of them
To be entertaining such considerations on Christmas Eve you must be extraordinary devoted to the Cause, for which I congratulate you most profusely
