Loved Ant-knee's deconstruction.

I is, of course, complete whackadoodlery. The concept of the sun, moon, and Polaris being in alignment is either ridiculous or meaningless, if not both.

K does have that Old Norse sk >> MnE sh going for it, but all that language derivation stuff does make it sound like I came up with it.

Regarding F, yes, there is a mash stage involved in beer making. Whether a secondary mash would reduce the quality of a beer is a little beyond my beer-making experience.

I like E just for the redundancy, sort of the titmouse of carpentry

Arduous and cryptic, it has been. I wanna thank Mav for his above-and-beyond parsing, though it didn't really help me much in arriving at my choice.

Here's the thing: after many sleepless nights, D stayed with me. But it has The Mark of The Ted written all over it. Well, the last two lines, anyway. Somehow it seems right; I've heard of this device before. But its name? This I do not know.

So, in the spirit of the "it's all Greek to me" Weltanschauung, I'll go with A; though it's beyond me how one could disguise one's own self to look like one belonged to a different Greek city. Toga embroidery or something?

Well, I'll probably end up covered in it, but I'm choosing K
and I'm guessing a certain Welshman submitted it

hehhehheh trying to figure out my inside-out triple double bluffs now, eh Connie? ;)

well, I'm still cogitating, but TEd's confession, such as it was, has shed new light...

and I have a couple of alternate identity parade guesses to muddy, er, clear the waters further... :)

For a variety of reasons I'm going to take D, even though if it _is_ D it could be C just as well.

Now all I have to do is figure out which book I think I read it in.

D, because it's the most outlandish of them all - no one could make that up! Could they?

Yes, I'm diving in there, too - didn't this come up in some of our interminable discussions on codes and similar things ages back? Anyway, I reckon the first part is legit, with TEd making valiant efforts to disguise it with his punyshment in the ending :)

K I reckon is TEd's actual entry, and mebbe Fong made A?

Please do carry on. I haven't had this much fun since the day my old granny fell down the stairs ...
