It is also interesting how a single word, namely, "plastics" in "The Graduate", can define an entire culture I was going to say that you'd have to know the context behind the word, but in the case of "plastics", I realized this does rather suit the U.S.!

Although a bit superficial textually 'Subway Art' could be considered a good introduction into graffiti culture.
Or, is "graffito" counter-culture?
I guess it depends on whether you are making an investment or a statement.
Of course, "graffito" doesn't have to appear on someone else's property to make a statement.
It can make a statement in the toniest of lofts.
