ETYMOLOGY: Latin rhapsdia, section of an epic poem, from Greek rhapsidi, from rhapsidein, to recite poems : rhaptein, rhaps-, to sew; see wer-2 in Appendix I + aoid, id, song; see wed-2 in Appendix I.
