what are they referring to? it's certainly not OED3, which was "launched" in 2000 and is years away from completion--and may never be "published" in the classical sense.

Alex's link in the bada bing thread gives us the clue, I think: ...the tome, the largest one-volume dictionary of English, the book's publishers said. (My opinion is that it oughtta be ba-da-bing, or ba-da bing. Grr.) Neat, that so many ref.'s to the publishing have been noted here.
