Is there a word for "the occurrence in real life of something that is ordinarily only a figure of speech." Example, seeing a blind person leading another blind person down the street -- "the blind leading the blind." Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's dictionatical if it isn't in any dictionary. It is based on the structure of quindecennial. Not to mention undecennial and duodecennial.

Though I congratulate Anu and AWAD heartily on their sixteenth anniversary the relation between 16 and the given words is pretty loose. Also none of the online dictionaries give a life sign for the word sexdecennial, which at first sight I interprete

Steenth is (or was) a financial term meaning 'one-sixteenth of a point'. Dunno if it's still used since they've gone to metric in quoting stock prices,

Bilden is the German verb for 'to form; educate; build'. So a Bildungroman is an 'education novel'.

You're welcome, you did the work yourself. It's a pure German word, but I see it's in all the dictionaries. I only knew the word Bildroman so far, which is not in the dictionaries.

Juneteenth It is a portmanteau of June 19th, the day in 1865 on which slavery was abolished in the State of Texas (link).

We also have "Juneteenth" celebrated here. Don't know when it is, either, and really don't care, but it uses the "teenth".

I got two wrong anagrams before I got IRATE. Clue: The chapter rated the most relevant was the one that made the reader fear the worst.
