Saturday night Peggy and I hosted a total of 13 people for dinner at The Fort, a wonderful (and expensive) restaurant near Denver, in celebration of my retirement. It had been originally scheduled a month earlier, but I changed it to March 8 so everyone could show up. Someone in the party told the waitress that the next day was my birthday, and the next thing I knew the wait staff came out with a buffalo headdress for me to wear while the staff and patrons gave three cheers. I think it may have been the frosty beverages that let your gaurd down. (You look a little *starry-eyed  ) Congrats on both dates.

So what's an "oxford" shirt? Why? What other name would I know it as? A "business" shirt perhaps?

An oxford shirt is made of a heavier coarser cloth, called, surprisingly enough, oxford cloth. http://www.virtue.to/fabric/07_Weaving.htmlthis site says it has white threads going one way and colored the other but I've seen white oxford cloth.
