I ran a VirusScan tonight and McAfee picked-up a Trojan Reg/Seeker. It infected just one file C:\WINDOWS\sp.dll.
It doesn't replicate like a virus but affects the registry and browser homepage. McAfee couldn't clean it so it automatically deleted it with no quarantine option. I ran the scan because when I clicked on a link on my homepage the computer threw up this bizarre psychedelic full-screen design.
The Trojan is passed directly threw e-mail, web pages, software, or in games.

I can't find any of the mentioned files the Trojan would have created on on my search engine, which is good. But can I operate without that WINDOWS.dll file? Is that a major file? Do I need to reinstall it? I seem to be navigating OK.

I don't have a clue how it got past my McAfee VirusScan, but everyone should do a scan since we share a lot of the same links. Any advice appreciated. Here's the information on the Trojan REG/SEEKER. (this stuff never ends, does it?...sigh)
