Wordwind ended thread 4 with this. Surely a record number of posts! My hat is off to Spartey, for coming up with so much fun!

Nicole: Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs
Ewan: Well, what's wrong with that? I'd like to know, Cause, here I go again! Love lifts us up where we belong, Where eagles fly on a mountain high
Nicole: Love makes us act like we are fools, Throw our lives away, For one happy day
Ewan: We could be heroes, Just for one day
Nicole: You, you will be mean
Ewan: No, I won't
Nicole: And I... I'll drink all the time
Ewan: We should be lovers
Nicole: We can't do that
Ewan: We should be lovers, And that's a fact
Nicole: No, nothing will keep us together
Ewan: We could steal time, Just for one day
Both: We could be heroes, Forever and ever, We could be heroes, Forever and ever, We could be heroes
Ewan: Just because I will always love you
Nicole: I can't help loving you... How wonderful life is
Both: Now, you're in the world
Placido Domingo: La forza dell'amor (the power/force of Love)

ELEPHANT LOVE MEDLEY - performed by Ewan McGregor & Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge -- have no idea who wrote all these lyrics from different songs!

Morning has broken, like the first morning,
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the word.

Morning Has Broken, Cat Stevens

Bye Bye Blackbird

Pick up all my care and woe
here i go singin' low
bye bye blackbird

Where somebody waits for me
sugar's sweet , so is he
bye bye blackbird

No one here can love or understand me
or what hard luck stories they all hand me

Make my bed and light the light
i'll arrive late tonight
blackbird, bye bye

Make my bed and light the light
i'll arrive late tonight
blackbird, bye bye

Recorded by many

But who originally wrote it? Beats me!

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

"Blackbird"
~~The Beatles

And as for "Bye Bye Blackbird" I found this:
"1926 song written by Ray Henderson (melody) and Mort Dixon (lyrics)". Hope this answers that question DubDub!

Great! I get out of bed Sunday morning only to find that Wordwind and WO'N have cluckcolded my favorite bird - the blackbird. I follow them around in the winter and fall trying to understand their collective habits.
Darn, if I think and think, and try to come up with another Blackbird song, one of you songsters will enter the theater via the side door.
O' well, I could just go back to bed...

But I won't... - -

Wake up. Wake up you sleepy head.
Get up. Get up out of bed
Look up. Look up the sun is red
Live. Love. Laugh and be happy!

When the red red robin comes bob bob bobing along,
There'll be no more sobbin' when he starts singing
That old, sweet song.
I'm just a kid again, doing things I did again,
Singing this song -
When the red red robin starts bob bob bobing along.

Recorded by many
But who originally wrote it? Beats me!

I will Post edit the composer later. You do understand that it is a matter of expediency that I do so.
- -

Post edit: Why Angel, why me? Can't you go over and out-scoup somebody in "Poems"? AhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHH!!

I've been so many places in my life and time
I've sung a lot of songs I've made some bad rhyme
I've acted out my love in stages
With ten thousand people watching
But we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you

"A Song For You"
~~The Carpenters

Milum, dear, I beat you by almost 9 minutes! And FYI "When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin' Along" was written by Harry Woods. Luv ya hon! [kiss-e]

There are places I'll remember
all my life, though some have changed
some forever, not for better
some have gone and some remain
with lovers and friends I still can recall
some are dead and some are living
in my life I loved them all
But of all those friends and lovers
there is no one compared with you
and these memories lose their meaning
when I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
for people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
in my life I'll love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
for people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
in my life I'll love you more
In my life I'll love you more

Another blackbird song for milum:

Sing a song of sixpence,
A pocket full of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds
Baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing.
Wasn't that a dainty dish
To set before the kind?

The king was in the counting house
Counting out his money.
The queen was in the parlor
Eating bread and honey.
The maid was in the garden
Hanging out the clothes.
Along came a blackbird
And pecked off her nose!

Mother Goose

A good bit of me keeps to the sky
On the back of a cloud
Unaware of how high
If I stay where I lay
I might drift away soon
From the pull of the sun
I am full of the moon
But baby your the one who grounds me
When the sounds of this world surround me
Your love it took a look and found me
Lost and on my own

Sister moon will be my guide
In your blue blue shadows I would hide
All good people asleep tonight
I'm all by myself in your silver light
I would gaze at your face the whole night through
I'd go out of my mind, but for you.

- Sister Moon - STING
