Good for you B96!

I got the same discouraging message as juanmaria, prefaced by You got one or more words wrong
Did they have to write it in RED?
It's grey and rainy here ... I didn't need that!

Sigh

Many congrats, b96. I too must just look on in envy at the proper logophiles, having been cast out to take up baseball. A question for the USn's. Are the baggy uniforms an essential part of the game?

Baggy pants? I'm a New York Yankee fan and I've only seen four active players that wear baggy pants (Thome of the Indians, Maddux of the Braves, Hernadez of the Yankees and Bartolo Colon of the Indians.) Back in the early part of last century everyone wore baggy uniforms. Some players wore baggy clothes because "it makes them look like a slugger". According to my brother it makes them look like a pile of clothes.
Also away uniforms are baggier than home uniforms.

I attended a 'double-header'® [Ernie Banks: "Let's play two"]* of the Minnesota Twins yesterday at the execrable metrodome, and in the first game they wore the uniforms of the 1901 Washington Senators (the original home of "our" twins). talk about baggy; the players all looked like high-school kids and seemed so embarrassed they also played that way.

*this isn't done any more, Ernie. this was the only scheduled double-header in all of the majors this year. (rain makeups will add a few more).

Well, whenever I've seen about 5 seconds of baseball on TV news, they certainly all look as if they've pinched their big brothers' uniforms.
