Newly identified coral reef crustacean named after late reggae performer Bob Marley.

A small parasitic blood-feeder that was found in fish that inhabit the coral reefs in the Caribbean has been named after the Jamaican stoner - the little critter has been designated Gnathia marleyi.

(Elvis has a wasp named after him...I'll have to research this.)

I saw this on a different online science journal. Just have
to be notorious of "of note" to get a crustacean or other
bug named after you. A new butterfly species was noted
here last week, first time ever in our area: probably due
to the drought.

Was that 'a new species' or a butterfly 'new to your area' Luke?

It is a butterfly new to the area: sorry I did not make that
clear. Never before found here: probably something to do with
the drought brought it in.

But no one would know it

And I often just can
Not get the danged thigs to anything like scan.

Not in ages. I hope he hasn't followed his moniker and gone extinct!

Dunno how okay he is at this moment: he just had a close family member die. Sympathies, Honey.
