(using other resources. At work I have little. At home I have a list of all the alternative representations, the "&#xyz" table, the implementation of them, the whole thing. Here's a sample:

À À Capital A, grave accent
Á Á Capital A, acute accent
  Capital A, circumflex accent
à à Capital A, tilde
Ä Ä Capital A, dieresis or umlaut mark
Å Å Capital A, ring
Æ Æ Capital AE diphthong (ligature)

Ç Ç Capital C, cedilla

È È Capital E, grave accent
É É Capital E, acute accent
Ê Ê Capital E, circumflex accent
Ë Ë Capital E, dieresis or umlaut mark

Ì Ì Capital I, grave accent
Í Í Capital I, acute accent
Î Î Capital I, circumflex accent
Ï Ï Capital I, dieresis or umlaut mark

Ð ®¢ Capital Eth, Icelandic
Ñ Ñ Capital N, tilde

Ò Ò Capital O, grave accent
Ó Ó Capital O, acute accent
Ô Ô Capital O, circumflex accent
Õ Õ Capital O, tilde
Ö Ö Capital O, dieresis or umlaut mark

etc. (It might not look the same on a PC)

So, as long as I'm at my Mac, I can simply cut and paste, and (as the saying goes) Bob's yer Uncle.

Comme ça:

DÉCOLLETÉ

But then where would my suggestive innuendoes go?

Glad that you have some way of achieving the desired
effect.

Still working on decollete, not much time today.

And as for suggestive innuendoes: keep 'em coming!

On Mac, an acute accent can be achieved by holding down the option key and pressing the E, then the letter that gets the accent. The grave accent is achieved by holding the option key, pressing the grave accent/tilde key (these are US layout), then the letter that receives the accent. There are similar schemes for other accents that should be described by the help files on your operating system.

That's one of the tricks that I know is there, learned ten times, and forgot eleven. Cutting and pasting is crude but effective.
