I used to be positive about when you should use practice and when you should use practise. Unfortunately, as so many people use them interchangeably I have confused even myself over when to use the c and when to use the s. Any help you lot could shed on this would be marvellous as then I can correct people to my heart's content knowing that I am definitely right laugh

practice is a noun; practise/practice is a verb.

The way I remember it is 's' is more active than 'c' in the sense you have to move your pen more to write an 's' than you have to move it to write a 'c'.

as hinted at herein, Chiefly British..
The form practice has become increasingly prevalent in U.S. use since the later 19th cent., and is now the generally accepted standard spelling. [OED]

you will not be surprised to learn that the Latin form was practizare, and the French practiser.
