Hello all! I'm hoping someone can help me with the word Payclass and it's plural.
In writing up new HR memo I want to write "All administrative posts in Payclass 1-4 are..." and my colleague wants to write "All administrative posts in Payclasses 1-4 are.."
(I looked around on line, and at first glance it seems payclass isn't even a single word!)

I would write pay classes 1 through 4. Your payclass 1-4, could be mistaken for a single pay class (i.e., one dash four), if not for the plural copula that follows.
Ceci n'est pas un seing.

I'm used to paygrade or maybe pay grade rather than pay( )class and the plural for that would be ... grades. Of course you could always avoid the problem entirely and say: "All administrative posts in Payclass 1 through Payclass 4 are..."
