This thread reminds me of a movie, I forget its name, that started with a guy on a barge on the northern stretches of the Mississippi River. The text over the opening scene said "TWO WEEKS LATER".

You could at least tell us what game we're playing. And maybe even who you're referring to with your unanteceded second person pronoun.

...is this just another questionable remark?

We're supposed to remember that we've played this before, right? George Santayanna and "the lessons of history" and all that?

(Why am I reminded of that old party game that dealt with a pair of scissors being handed around a circle of players, with the comment "I receive them crossed (or uncrossed, as appropriate) and I pass them uncrossed (or crossed, as appropriate)" and it's not about the scissors at all but the legs at the time of receiving or giving ? )

Isn't that the whole point of the thread, realizing that there is a rule to be followed, and then figuring it out ? And then never stating it in so many words, but simply following the rule in your posts?

Life having plagued me with scoffers lately, the type of muffler I currently prefer for scoffers is one wide enough to serve as a bacalava, with my being allowed to assist with the fitting. The bacalava application might leave less-compelling physical evidence than would the tempting garotte application.

I need to find that screenplay-writing app I recently downloaded.

I instantly mis-guessed baklava to be one of the flat breads of the world (does every culture have one or more?). Some of those pictured look formidable, so much so that I'd like to take them on about now.

ok, since I started this game, I'll end it, because it seems that feeling are being hurt, and that, of course, was never the intention.

I always try to use smileys with my gentle jabs, to show that we're all in this together. though I guess sometimes they don't read well.

I started this game, after some time-travel through the archives here, seeing a previous version, and thought it would be fun to do it again. the game has one Rule: all posts must be in the form of a question.

game over.

No, the disappointer post was a one that really made me laugh. It sure was a good one. Is why I used the smiley I really like.
The half thruth was a comment on a Stoppard quote. Do you mind smileys? (They are horridly ugly but I like the laugher.) laugh See?
(but Morph's might have had one) The question mark was not so hard to guess, but some people (me too) often want to know the why of the why. Silly maybe, but...

Thus far I've been of the opinion that emoticons would not be likely to help me in my efforts to express myself, though they might be fun to play with in combination sometime.

The accusation of hijacking the thread took the discussion to a quantum other plane—ironically.
