Oh, man--I got the anagram before I got Anna Graham! [d'oh] Well--I've always said I've got to be whomped up side the head before I can see the obvious. (Ron who?)

I didn't get the anagram = Anna Graham either but then I miss these things if my pronuncation is significantly different from the pun. In this case Graham = gray um.

Peggy suggests a row of knitters.

This is BY FAR the most logical of suggestions!
As a (former) knitter I would offer that:
since the two resources used for knitting are needle(s) and yarn
and since yarn is kept on a spool or (more often) in a ball

A group of knitters should be called A GUILD !!

What about Needlenutters? (wooh, Helen, I like knitting , but a crowd of knitters frightens me. The sound ....
That multiplied rickety-tickety sound!

Edit:(Hope you don't take this wrong, if you are crazy about knitting I think you should let people know.)

[>> zm <<How about a sockful of knitters? ]
Or maybe a chockful of knits? (chock in the meaning of cable)
I try.. I try..
