Today I found the following sentence among some financial news:
Moscow's investment banking scene is seldom without a rumor that any of its
remaining independent investment banks, such as Renaissance Capital, Troika or
Aton, is about to be snapped up by a bulge-bracket name ..

Has anybody heard of this expression, and where does it come from?
