I was watching City of God (Cidade de Deus) a year ago and I remember a jocular (and probably derogatory) word they used to describe "children"... well, I don't remember the actual word or I wouldn't be posting here, but it was rather ear-catching that it struck me it could be a known term. I think it's a word-combination.

Anyone?

I'm fluent in Portuguese but didn't see the movie. I'll ask some Brazilian friends.

One Spanish term is "mocoso" for brat - from their snotty noses. Might the Porteugese term be a close relative?
