"Call me irresponsible - call me unreliable
Throw in undependable too
Do my foolish alibis bore you
Well I'm not too clever - I just adore you

Call me unpredictable - tell me I'm impractical
Rainbows I'm inclined to pursue
Call me irresponsible - yes I'm unreliable
But it's undeniably true - I'm irresponsibly mad for you"

~Frank Sinatra (and Father Steve)

Fr Steve has clearly taken our game to heart and is now bursting into song all over the place

It’s time to end my holiday and bid the country a hasty farewell.
So on this gray and melancholy day, I’ll move to a manhattan hotel.
I’ll dispose of my rose-colored chattels and prepare for my share of adventures and battles,
Here on the twenty-seventh floor looking down on the city I hate and adore!
Autumn in New York, why does it seem so inviting?
Autumn in New York, it spells the thrill of first-nighting.
Glittering crowds and shimmering clouds in canyons of steel;
they’re making me feel I’m home.
It’s autumn in New York that brings the promise of new love.
Autumn in New York is often mingled with pain.
Dreamers with empty hands may sigh for exotic lands;
It’s autumn in New York; It’s good to live again.

Hands

If I could tell the world just one thing
It would be that we're all ok
And not to worry 'cause worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these
I won't be made useless
I won't be idle with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear
My hands are small, I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
Poverty stole your golden shoes
It didn't steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
But I knew it wasn't ever after

We'll fight, not out of spite
For someone must stand up for what's right
Cause where there's a man who has no voice
There ours shall go singing

My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
I am never broken.

Well now, baby meet me in the bottom, bring me my running shoes
Well now, baby meet me in the bottom, bring me my running shoes
Well throw them out the window, won't have time to lose.

When you see me streaking by, please don't be late
When you see me streaking by, please don't be late
Well you runnin', though my life is at stake

Well, I hope you'll see me when I come streaking by
Well, I hope you'll see me when I come streaking by
She got a bad old man, you know I'm too young to die.

Meet me in the Bottom

you are my starship
come take me up tonight
and don't be late
and don't you come too soon

"Why does monday, come before tuesday
Why do summers start in june
Why do winters come too soon
Why do people fall in love
When they’re always breaking up, oh why
Why do we love if love will die"

He'll look at me and smile
I'll understand ;
And in a little while,
He'll take my hand ;
And though it seems absurd,
I know we both won't say a word

Maybe I shall meet him Sunday
Maybe Monday, maybe not ;
Still I'm sure to meet him one day
Maybe Tuesday will be my good news day

Ain't it the truth.
The poignant message within this lovely song has long been hard wired into the operative biology of almost every English-speaking woman on Earth and hardly needs repeating.
But still, they are beautiful words, so come on girls, altogether now, a-one, a-two, a-three...

Sometimes it's hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doin things that you don't understand
But if you love him
You'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh, be proud of him
Cause after all he's just a man

Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
when nights are cold and lonely

Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

STAND BY YOUR MAN

...Mama lives in Mandeville, I can hardly wait until
I can hear my Zydeco and laissez le bon temps roulet
And take rides in open cars
My brother knows where the best bars are
Let's see how these blues'll do in the town where the good times stay
