Well I hope you are happy, Father Steve, like you asked I waited until after midnight to ring up my pal Andy to wish upon him a happy new year...too late. Andy had already run his F-100 pick-up truck into a chert ditch.
Some wishing, I guess, is best done premature.

Don't forget, aged vicar, a bowl of black-eyed peas and ham hocks will insure you good luck throughout 2006, so don't be surprised if the Republicans sweep the congressional elections in November.

Good luck to you I hope you win the power ball lottery.

That's just great. Want to know how I started my new year? Well, I happen to fall asleep on 23:00, and woke up at 1:00 A.M. ...so I missed the countdown. But not that I had any big plans or anything-- which is even more sad. Then my computer caught a nasty virus. Apparently it was (or is) infected with Trojan and other malicious viruses. I ran endless of anti-virus programs on my machine, and even though it seems alright now, I still have my paranoid feeling something is in there nibbling on the system. goddamnit.

Thanks eta and mav - it's good to be back! Retirement has proved to be a full time occupation so far. Problem is, when you retire you are helped to rediscover all the things you have been too busy to get done for the last ten/fifteen years!

My uncle claims that retire is short for really, really tired because everyone gives you jobs and committees "since you have so much time now"!
