There is a debate raging in our office about the Bronx Cheer. Its a commonly used word around here:)

Is there an official spelling of the "word"/sound that the Bronx cheer identifies?

If not, can the sound be spelled and what is the correct spelling?

Can anyone help?

Well, it is sometimes called a linguolabial trill or a voiceless labiolingual trill.

Thanks for the great link about it....

What's your best guess at how the sound would be "spelled"

I haven't been able to use Unicode / IPA here, so your best bet is to go with the "spellings" provided in the Wikipedia article. Since the sound doesn't occur in any languages as a normal phoneme, the IPA that would be used, as well as the name, are up in the air. The usual spelling I've seen in English is something like "thhpp!"
