I really need help solving the message below. I think it is some type of cryptic wordplay, but I am not sure. If anyone can make any sense of it, I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

_________

old french friends

an actor's studio on the crest of the hill
a jam band on the corner of 3rd and Studebaker.
a boy eats ice cream.
a little girl.

the sundance film festival.
moonlighting as clown in the gown.

I can't provide any real context because I am not completely sure who sent it to me. I received the message with no instructions or hints, so I am basically at square one. At the very least, I am just trying to figure out what I am dealing with in that message. Are those anagrams?

To me, they look a bit like the hints in a cryptic crossword puzzle; or else the kind you get in a game of charades. Does any one even play charades any more?

But no, I can't make head or tail of them either.

You say you don't know the sender? Maybe it was just a spam feeler looking for valid email addresses. It looks like it could be text designed to fly under spam-checker radar. My advice is not to open emails when you don't know who the sender is. Some of them can contain executable code. Even having the email show up in a preview window can be dangerous.

I have to agree with Faldage. If you received an anonymous email with cryptic text most likely there is no meaning to be found.

It's a long story (and the context is as confusing as the message itself), but I am pretty sure I know who sent the message. It's not spam. If I could just solve one line of that passage, it could get the ball rolling. Yet, having said that, I am not completely sure there is a hidden message in that passage. It could just be an exercise in futility. Fun stuff! Anyway, thanks for the comments.

old french friends: Could be described as "airy" according to wife Laverne, who is much smarter than I; or does she err

an actor's studio on the crest of the hill: Aerie. You might say it's a loft

That is to say, airborne

a jam band on the corner of 3rd and Studebaker: Certainly an airy location

However, the Studebaker, from bygone era. Predated air bags and air conditioning, and what else? That's just a pair; ergo need a 3rd

a boy eats ice cream: Ice cream, a dairy product, contains air so it's airy. Perhaps the lad's name is 'arry

a little girl: Could have an airy disposition, or the body of a fairy

the sundance film festival: Wasn't it aired at an airpark? Surely some of the lyrics were erotic

moonlighting as clown in the gown: an unbearable airhead in apparel

Forgive me
