World Water Day is good, but what about a day for those who mix their whiskey or brandy with soda?

<<soda>>
I've always thought there was too much water in whiskey to begin with.

I once attended a rather swank before-supper party at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, where the only two bottles on the bar were Jack Daniels and Jim Beam. The bartender first asked "Jack or Jim?" and then, once the guest had expressed a preference, pointed to a pitcher of water and asked "Pollutant?"

Darn it, eta: here I am at this very moment, eating waffles topped with strawberry preserves because I have to save the maple syrup I bought just yesterday for the Easter brunch--and you have to go and make my mouth water!! [payback e] Hmm, do you know, come to think of it, the Pure Canadian Maple (thanks again, belM) did seem rather superior to Vermont's... heh heh heh

Hmm, it would be nice to be in a position to comment. I've had New Hampshire syrup, and Vermont syrup, (Vermont's much better), but sirop quebecois is an unknown quantity. I guess the quebecoise I know got intimidated when she heard that I'd tried the non plus ultra of maple syrups, from Vermont. Perfectly understandable, really.

When we were traipsing around the US and Canada (inadvertently) in 2001 we bought maple syrup. We had some from Noo Yok, Vermont, New Hampshire, Ontario(!) and Quebec. Frankly, my dears, I couldn't tell any difference. [/philistinia]

'At's parboly...'
When you eaten New York State maple surple you realize that Vermont's is superior to Quebec's?
As to "cadaverine;" is there a word for a noun that sounds like an adjective being cleverly used as one?

Made me do it, anastrophic did.
Starry Google
Starry, starry search Paint your logo yellow, blue and gray Look out on a late March day With eyes that know the darkness of my search Monitor shadows like a birch -- I'll get some Windex cleaning fast Catch the breeze as I wipe past A kaleidoscope until the wetness dries
For Google could not find you But still their search was true And when no hope was left onsite On that starry, starry night I gave it up -- Web junkies often do
But I could have told you, Google My search was never meant for one as Vincentlike as you

Great work, Saranita. On the verse that is - one should NEVER use window cleaning fluid on a monitor, as I'm sure you know well.
