Now, I am an Earth Snake
My other daughter's a snake, wife's a rabbit, and I'm a wood rat.
It's so interesting that I can read these putative character and say, yes, it's true ... except there are always exceptions.
OTOH, my mom was reading her chinese horoscope once and was telling me how closely it seemed to match - only to realize at the end that she had gotten the date wrong. ah, well.
It's still fun anyway.

Yeah, FF, that sort of thing happened to me, too. Until I was a young adult I thought I was a Horse, then I learned the Chinese lunar year doesn't start on Jan 1! My birthday's in late Jan, and the year I was born it had just become the new year in the Chinese calendar. So I am a snake, or an ASp as they say around these parts.

My whole family are oxes (I know the plural of ox is oxen but "my family are oxen" sounds much ruder somehow, even my sis-in-law. I on the other hand am a tiger.

Oh, Biii--ing--ley, guess wha-at? [music notes icon]
People born in the Year of the Rooster are deep thinkers, capable, and talented. They like to be busy and are devoted beyond their capabilities and are deeply disappointed if they fail. People born in the Rooster Year are often a bit eccentric, and often have rather difficult relationship with others. They always think they are right and usually are! They frequently are loners and though they give the outward impression of being adventurous, they are timid. Rooster peopleˇ¦s emotions like their fortunes, swing very high to very low. They can be selfish and too outspoken, but are always interesting and can be extremely brave. They are most compatible with Ox, Snake, and Dragon.

It's just for fun, of course, this horoscope thingie. I am a snake - and was very happily married to the late great Captain - a dog - which is not a match made in heaven according to Chinese horoscope. Then, on the third hand, Hi tsum the Captain was a Pices in the "other" horoscope - which sure was a happy match! So there you go ...
