Was my face red this morning, when after spending a couple hours trying to find English translation of one of the little stanzas in Carmina Burana, I found it in one of Wordsmith's Letters! I looked further, and found that all the words that have been in AWAD before are listed alphabetically. I suggest you browse there, you may find words never discussed in AWADtalk that you might want to post about. http://wordsmith.org/awad/wordlist.htmlEdit: On Saturday, Jan 10, the wordlist seems to have been deleted in toto. Both Faldage and etaoin have sung the swan song therefrom: Faldage in falsetto and etaoin in real live genuwine counter-tenor, far as I can recall. Thus endeth the intrusion. Carry on.

Depends on whether you're using German Latin, Italian Latin or what. Roger sings it in the German style with a ts for the c and a hard g on the cut he gave us in his swan.mp3 link. We use the Italian ny pronunciation in our chorus, but when I'm singing it to my own mediævaloid setting I pronounce it tsingkne

is the "g" hard?Well, it depends on how you want to pronounce it. Latin was learned as a second language in school throughout Europe, and every nation had its own pronunciation. Added to this is that many singers today pronounce Latin in the same way based on their original languages. (Using SAMPA http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/sampa/home.htm) For Germans: /tsign@/, for Italians /tSiJE/, for Romans (caution reconstruction) /kigne/.
