We all know the tiny colored squares called confetti, perhaps still thrown at weddings, etc.
But I did not know until just now reading about the Carnival at Rome, that the paper stuff is just an imitation of the original tiny confections (small pieces of candy), so now the word "confetti" makes sense to me.

Facinating. My 18 year old cousin is staying with me and her reaction to anything she likes seems appropriate. Instead of "cool" it's "Sweet!"

The classic confetto is an almond covered by a shell of white solid sugar.

There are modern variations , with chocolate inside, or coloured shells.

These are often called Jordan Almonds in US, and are frequently used as a favor/table decoration at wedding.

I love them!
