OP
Something that is out of place temporally (e.g., the clock chimes in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar) is an anachonism. Is there a corresponding word for something that is out of place culturally (e.g., attributing a belief or pratice from ancient Greek culture to ancient Chinese culture)? If not, can anyone suggest a good neologism?
Chronos is from the ancient greek meaning time (eg chronological) so we could look at the derivation of the word culture for a start - any ideas?
