Not sure, but this appears to be an advert.

Could be a cry for help from a distant star system.

It's an ad for a book written in Chinese from Taiwan on some linguistics theme. It should be removed along with these comments.

>It should be removed along with these comments.

ah, but that assumes a moderator who is paying attention -- maybe in a parallel universe.

Rather than starting a new thread with this amusing tidbit, I thought I'd just stick it here.

Is this the point where I begin my annual "there is no Anu" rant?

yeah, the url is just meant to be ironic --
www.buymyebook.com

Hello, ardams1, and welcome aBoard. I think that perhaps you have inadvertently done something that met with disfavor here: posted what appeared to be a commercial. Possibly a bit of explanation, maybe along the lines of, "I thought you all might be interested in this..." PLUS the fact that the one is free, might have helped. I don't believe anyone seeing an address titled 'buy my e-book' can be blamed for thinking, "Somebody's out to make money".
That said, I have a complaint about the offering itself: as far as I could tell, there is no way to get even a sample of what the book is; you have to download it, then find out. Sorry, I for one am not about to do that.
