Dear etaoin: I never did find the E.B.White quote, but
that Chiasmus site is good for several hours of pleasant
browsing. I wonder though if that "kiss a fool" quote is
original with the site. I'm sure I heard it somewhere else
a long time ago.

I like this title: Memoirs of an Amnesiac.

thanks ETA. It seems like it will get even more interesting as he completes (or keeps adding to) the site.

Thanks, eta... now Mardy would make a great guest contributor for AWAD, wouldn't he? mebbe I'll message Anu and see if I get ignored like my poor benighted updownside brother ;)

What's the difference between a King and a Knight?
Once a King, always a King. But once a Knight is enough.

Sir Max and mine other brethren and sistren,

I bear the interesting tidings that Anu (on the ball as ever) had already been alerted about the upcoming book by Mardy... and confirms he is actively considering a guest and/or chat session, so that coud be a fun one, I reckon.
