A very fine article on words in latest Vocabula Review.
Thanks again, Jackie for the subscription.

Golly, Dr. Bill, you're still very welcome, but mercy, you can stop thanking me now...
I, not being a subscriber, couldn't read the article, but I did vote in a most interesting poll (attention Faldage):
Dictionaries should be much more prescriptive, far less descriptive, than they now are.
The ballot is quite interesting to peruse.

(attention Faldage)

This poll is available to all? I can't even post on the forum anymore, having been kicked out twice.

I went to the front page and clicked on the poll. A new page came up, claiming to be the poll page (in the URL) , but I didn't see any difference between it and the main page. Did I just vote for Saddam Hussein?

It took a little searching, but I found the poll in a right-hand column. It seems to be accessable to the general public; at least, it took my vote without inquiry or identification that I could tell.

it took my vote

That was my question: did I vote without realizing it? Doesn't seem like much of a poll if you only get one choice.

D'oh! The purloined poll. OK. I voted.
