The thing that weren't an apple din't say squat about what it were or weren't. It were the artist what said it weren't an apple. He's the one what painted it so I'd be inclined to believe him.

Oh? Ever heard of Salvadore Dali? Who'd have believed anything he said? Sorry. Show me a drawing of an apple and I'll use my language to identify what you've shown me--the word my language provides for that drawing--tough luck--is apple.
