From a combination of not learning phonics and learning most of my vocabulary from books, I often embarrass myself by pronouncing words incorrectly in conversation. I know AWAD comes with an audio recording of words. This I really appreciate. Do these come from some other service I could access? Is there any dictionary site online that provides audio files of the correct pronunciation of words?

Welcome, Vix!
Check out OneLook Dictionary.com
Enter a word, and lots of dictionaries will come up to click on. MW, among several others, has an audio feature for pronuncation.
Happy hunting,

Oh wonderous day ... are you hinting there is a place I can go to hear Aussie and Oz and Brit pronunciations ...
Now *that* should be fun~!
Why thank you. Merriam-Webster's dictionary works quite well. As for being correct, well I may still pronounce words differently from most, but at least I can now point the blame to someone other than myself. :-) Thank you.
