In the spirit of the recent post announcing the obituary of Thor Heyerdahl:

With deep sorrow, and with a catch in my throat, I announce the passing of another cultural icon. Some may recall that the term with which she is everlasting associated achieved new meaning in the book, "All the President's Men", and might also be applied to a more recent president. Thus, while her own contribution to language was strictly oral, it became a seminal part of our written tradition.

The obituary in The Times highlights a different aspect of her life:
Linda Lovelace
Deep Throat porn star who turned her back on the industry to campaign against its abuse of women
