Google is keeping locals happy ! Queen's day today. Happy birthday Beatrix!(See Google Nederland) What are you seeing that I don't see? Google English is just like the usual colors.(blue, red, yellow, blue, green, red letters)
Your's two links, Jackie, twosleepy, what do you see?
And what has Jeff Koons got to do with it?

When I switch from Google homepage Dutch to Google English, or Google French or Italian whatever, the features change. When you set 'preferences' to Dutch or Nederlands do the features of your page not change?

(it is a nation wide celebration day, everyone in the streets, I guess like 4th of July , but of course different)

you know, it never even occurred to me to do that.

-joe (must be that US-centrism thang) friday

edit: I tried that, but I couldn't read a thing! I think I'll do better with 'Elmer Fudd'. (but I muwst add, I nevew saw the biwthday/cwown logo.)
Posted By: BranShea Re: Google logo today - 04/30/08 06:35 PM
Hmm... Elmer Fudd??
Still , it's weird. You got three and a half more hours to trace it.

Hoh!!! Another shocking discovery: white text is reveiled on the
active topics page!! I did : "no special favors to foreigners"
in hidden white and it's open to read for everyone on 'active topics'.
Well, it wasn't quote-proof anyway. \:o

I was able to type in the Dutch URL for Google (link) and see it ... There is a place in your account settings which allows you to set your locale and your language. Russian in Mexico, Icelandic in UAE, etc.

Yes, sorry, silly joke. I click 'preferences 'get the page where I change location and language for other countries. No Url needed.
I guess they do things like this for all countries.
So when is the birthday of the King of Estonia?
(The queen of Esperanto??? \:\) ????)

What happens when great art mixes with your homepage? iGoogle Artist Themes I saw that, but there was nothing there to tell me how it related to the balloons (thanks, 2s). So, is this Koons' birthday, or what?
Posted By: Aramis Re: Google logo today - 04/30/08 07:12 PM
Not sheet metal tulips?
Posted By: BranShea Re: Google logo today - 04/30/08 07:14 PM
But Jackie? please, what are you two talking about? I see no balloons on the English home page. Is there a seperate American Google homepage?

actually, there is. if you take the link, and then click Koon's name, you see "balloons".

edit: wiki explains today's logo.

edit[2] Elmer Fudd is one of my Pwefewences.
Posted By: BranShea Re: Google logo today - 04/30/08 08:52 PM
Koons' Google banner. Ballons allright.
Thanks. That was on your Google homepage today? Not on the English homepage here. Preferences for homepage features I guess,
Elmer Fudd? That's for tomorrow.Day's up.

actually, there is. if you take the link, and then click Koon's name Ah, but again my ignorance did me in: having never heard of Mr. Koons, and not seeing the same picture, I didn't know what to click on. Thanks, though. [blowing kiss e]

Oh, why not: [blowing kiss e] to you, Branny, 'cause I think you're a cool lady!
Posted By: BranShea Re: Google logo today - 05/01/08 04:09 PM
Thanks ! And blow returned. Right now I'd like to be a bit less cool. Temperatures dropped to winter values again
+ rain and the free day (got it: ascension day) is spent indoors. All shops closed, no supplies for work brings the best excuse for hanging out here. (I found Elmer Fudd too.)
