do you still have trouble with posts that always show as "new" no matter how many times you read them?

I don't know if this has been noted by anyone heretofore, but I rid myself of this glitch by NEVER using the "Last post" link on the main page. or, by always using the Topics and then the Subject links I find that the posts always get properly flagged as read.

Once again, sheer ignorance has kept me from having to deal with a problem. I didn't even know that Last post was clickable. I always click on Subject, and it takes me to the first post that I haven't read*. And after that, the "new" flags disappear.
*I have a vague memory that that's a default setting; possibly changeable.
