Happy Sexennium, AWAD!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was on March 14, six years ago, that A.Word.A.Day sent its first word to
a handful of friends. Today, 277000 subscribers, 184 countries, 2000+ words,
and 186 million messages later we still haven't run out of the love for words.
We are still tickled on discovering a curious word, and we still believe a
dictionary is the most fascinating book ever created.

On this occasion, we at Wordsmith World Headquarters present a bulletin board
AWADtalk http://wordsmith.org/board/awadtalk.cgi where you can absorb words,
discuss your favorite ones, powwow with fellow linguaphiles, help each other
in sleuthing mystery themes, ask questions about etymologies, chitchat about
puzzles, wordplay, crosswords and anything else that you can imagine.

We have grown to where we are now because of your passion and participation.
Please keep your feedback coming.

Heaven's to Betsy, Jackie!
You mean we were about to be a day late and a dollar short?

I'd planned to start celebrating the night before which I though was March 14/15-- AWARtalk Eve -- so I'd feel a connection to the Posters in varying time zones.
So ... when should I light the celebratory candles and cue the trumpeters?
Your earliest reply greatly appreciated by your humble servant

wow, how about we let this thread be the continuation of the AWADtalk's birthday, which was indeed getting too long and porcine.

Good call, Jackie. I say we have a two-day party ... Heck, take it on through St Patrick's Day, the equinox, and the start of regular-season baseball!

Don't know about you but I've been celebrating since the date surfaced.
Explains a lot, doesn't it?

As far as I'm concerned, every day is a party here.

as a new person to this chat board, I say congrats to AWAD and many happy more years. I will drink a toast to AWAD when I take my 5 year old daughter out for her birthday dinner that same night.

CONGRATS!!!

Well welcome on Board sunniebgi.

A very good thread to read in this section (Information and Announcement) is the Helpful hints for newcomers. It'll give you a whole pile of info on how to get around, use neat tricks and all.

Have fun.

Jackie, (Today's Birthday Girl)
Would you give a short run down on how we are to start the Congratulations to Anu; what it's title will be; and when to post; for the newcomers who perhaps have not had time to read the orignal looooong thread?
Love,
wow
