Over the past couple of days, another forum I enjoy visiting has been down for scheduled maintenance that has resulted in a definitely unscheduled extension of downtime. Is there a term for the frustrated powerlessness, the sensation of being easily bored, that comes when a favourite site's servers are down? Perhaps there should be a specific coinage for this phenomenon? No bawdy talk, though, please.

well, what's the opposite of euforia?

Dese fora, er, dysphoria?

I expect coming up with the right term will be easy if you are sufficiently bored.

Endomusia

Not only an opposite but parbably caused by that *emptiness.

BTW, tsuwm, Onelook gives only wwftd as reference.

oh, I know.. I've got a catalog of words where wwftd is the only reference!

{just kidding; but the ones that get hit with regularity are actually becoming sort of annoying..}

e-nui.

Very nice, shanks. I like it, and shall use it, since the board that prompted my initial question appear to have gone down again.

Me too - this vanishing board business must be infectious. :-)

Max, isn't E-nui close to Whangamata?

Closer to Waikikamukau, I think.

Okay. Why not Waikikimukau, I suppose. It deserves it.

If you say so, Manchester it is. 12,000 miles wrong ain't so bad, is it, Max?

Posted By: sjmaxq Re: Why kick a moo-cow? - 05/05/04 10:04 PM
As an Arsenal fan, 12,000 miles is about as close I want to come to Manchester, so I'll happily concur with you on that one.

I can understand that. Man City are such a threat to the Gunners, aren't they?

Posted By: shanks Re: Why kick a moo-cow? - 05/06/04 01:47 PM
Max

Every time I begin to learn to like you, you go and do something like saying you're an Arsenal fan. Dear oh dear oh dear...

Absolutely. Aren't they the only team Manchester has?

If'n you say so, Max.

Max, your subject line is a typically brilliant turn of a phrase.

HE-HEM.

I am here you know, lurking, but present, and with a decaying stadium on the end of my street. Just...watch it
