I was surfing for word lists, when my attention was grabbed by one for Pitcairn Island (confess to being very glad my life wasn't dependent on knowing where it is). It's short, as word lists go, and I thought yorley might be interested. Some of the words indicate a direct link with English; others, not. I was quite amused by one of the def.'s of the last word!

Dear Jackie: I had wondered for years about the breadfruit project, whether it had been a realistic
project, since I had never heard breadfruit mentioned except in relation to the Bounty and the
mutiny. I found a site which says that Captain Bligh made a second voyage to Tahiti, got more
breadfruit plants, and delivered them to the Caribbean. Though they were indeed a valuable
source of food, the slaves refused to eat them. But they are used today, though not a principal
